What is limited-scope representation?

Limited-scope representation — sometimes called unbundled legal services — means an attorney assists with a specific, defined part of your legal matter rather than taking over the entire case. At TLF Legal Essentials, each package covers a defined scope of work: for example, reviewing your documents and providing a written risk assessment, or preparing you for a hearing. Work outside that defined scope is not included.

Is TLF Legal Essentials part of Tyson Law Firm, P.C.?

Accepted Answer

Yes. TLF Legal Essentials is an assumed business name and service line of Tyson Law Firm, P.C. All legal services are provided by Tyson Law Firm, P.C. under a written engagement agreement.

Question 3

Does payment automatically create an attorney-client relationship?

Accepted Answer

No. Purchasing a package does not by itself establish an attorney-client relationship or constitute acceptance of your matter. Representation begins only after Tyson Law Firm, P.C. completes a conflict-of-interest check, confirms that your matter fits within the purchased scope, and both parties sign the written engagement agreement.

Question 4

What happens if the firm cannot accept my matter?

Accepted Answer

If Tyson Law Firm, P.C. cannot move forward with your purchased package — for any reason, including a conflict of interest or a matter that falls outside the package scope — your payment will be timely refunded in full.

Question 5

Will you appear in court on my behalf?

Accepted Answer

No. Court appearance by an attorney is not included in any current TLF Legal Essentials package. Packages such as Small Claims Trial Prep and Landlord-Tenant Hearing Prep are designed to prepare you to represent yourself. If you need attorney court appearance, that would require a separate full-representation engagement with Tyson Law Firm, P.C.

Will you file documents for me?

Accepted Answer

Not unless separately agreed in writing. Current packages do not include filing documents with a court or agency on your behalf. If document filing is needed, it must be addressed in a separate engagement agreement.

Question 7

What if I need more work than the package covers?

Accepted Answer

If your matter requires work beyond the scope of your purchased package, a separate engagement is required. You can contact us to discuss whether an additional package or a different arrangement is appropriate. Work outside the defined scope is not performed automatically and does not extend your current package.

Question 8

Does my package automatically convert to hourly billing if more work is needed?

Accepted Answer

No. Packages do not automatically convert to hourly billing or expand in scope. Each package covers a fixed scope of work. If additional services are needed, a new and separate engagement agreement is required.

Question 9

How long does service take?

Accepted Answer

Turnaround time varies by package and the complexity of your matter. After the engagement agreement is signed and all required materials are received, the legal team works within a reasonable timeframe consistent with the package. If you have a specific deadline, contact us before purchasing to confirm whether it can be met.

Question 10

Can I request Priority Service?

Accepted Answer

Priority Service may be available for eligible packages at an additional 25% of the package price, subject to approval and availability. Priority Service provides accelerated processing — it does not expand the scope of the package, guarantee same-day service, create emergency representation, or include court appearance. Contact us to inquire before purchasing.

Question 11

What if I have an urgent deadline?

TLF Legal Essentials is not an emergency legal service. If you have an imminent court deadline, filing deadline, or other time-sensitive matter, contact us before purchasing to confirm whether the service can be completed in time. Purchasing a package does not guarantee that urgent deadlines can be met. If your deadline cannot be accommodated, your payment will be refunded.

Can you guarantee an outcome?

Accepted Answer

No. No attorney can guarantee a specific outcome in any legal matter. TLF Legal Essentials provides professional legal guidance, analysis, and preparation within the defined scope of each package. The outcome of your legal matter depends on many factors outside the firm's control.
